Fiery Furnace Forge

American Made Blacksmithing Tools & Art

“Lighter, Stronger, Better” the Fiery Furnace Forge method behind every tool we make!

Tongs

All Standard Fiery Furnace Forge Tongs Are Made From New 5160 Spring Steel!

When using FFF tongs be sure not to heat your tongs too much. If your tongs get too hot during use, simply dip your tongs in water and remove them rapidly. This is known as cooling your tongs, this is NOT quenching. Quenching is when you dip your tongs in water and keep them submerged until they are completely cool. If you use the quenching method with the FFF tongs, they will harden and become brittle and possibly break.

It is for that reason we recommend rapidly dipping your tongs and removing them from the water so as not to suck all the heat from your tongs too quickly. You can dip your tongs continually until they are cool enough to touch but do NOT keep your tongs submerged.
